A New Zealand based iPhone Wannabe Mat Brady designs a new concept for iPhone. Mat is currently an unsatisfied user of Nokia N95 and wants to switch to iPhone. But wait a moment, he isn’t happy with the features of current iPhone also, so what exactly he wants is a customized iPhone with added features. So he presents his idea and is hopeful for consideration.
Here is his message to the Steve Jobs:
“Hi Steve, As you can see I’ve made a few design suggestions to your iPhone. I’ve held off getting an iPhone until it gets a better camera. (See pic) Let me know when I can get rid of my N95.”
Cheers,
Mat Brady
Now the question arises that why does he want to go for an iPhone? I mean when he is asking for added feature, he could have asked for added features in any other phone or PDA, but Mat himself explains that he actually has become a fan of Mac since he bought 17″ MacBook Pro and 24″ iMac.
Now if we analyze the Mat’s proposed design, it seems to be quite nasty but interesting.

Google, which we know as a tech giant of todays age is also hit by the economic crises. Each Year in the holidays/christmas season, they used to give away cash bonuses upto $30,000 to its employees. But this year Google gives G1 Android phone worth $180. It was kind of a dog food for Googlers. Google is considered one of the best place to work across the world, but this year, Googlers have got disappointed.
This is the official email by Google to its Employees. Email revealed by ValleyWag:
Googlers,
The holiday bonus is a Google tradition - it’s a great way to thank everyone for their hard work. In the past, we’ve done this in cash. This year, we’ve decided to give Googlers a different kind of present - a Dream phone (this is the same device T-Mobile markets as the G1). We’re really excited about getting the phone to more Googlers in more countries, and also seeing all the cool new things you do with it.
Shipping these special edition phones in such a short time frame (they were designed especially for Googlers with a ‘droid’ on the back) and making sure they would work anywhere in the world was no small feat. So a big thank you to the Android and Legal teams for making this happen. While these phones do not have SIM cards, they are unlocked so they can be used with the network provider of your choice. Plus - thanks to more fancy footwork from the Android team - they’ll work immediately as WiFi devices!
Gizmodo has shared an interesting and anonymous conversation between the Googlers about their dream Christmas Bonus
You must have seen many short URL(s) everywhere on the internet. Short URL(s) promise cleans up all the shitty long URLs and transform them into clean and short URLs. Did you ever felt curious what lies behind those small and short code type URL? Ever wanted to see what it leads to? What exactly is the original source it is linking to?
Well, the problem is solved now. A Google employer initiated a startup called Long URL Please! This is basically a browser extension that can be installed within the matter of clicks. This extension works in the background when every web page loads, replacing short urls with the proper ones, so that you can tell exatly where links will take you.
Of course, this service can be used to reduce uncertainty. So you will really know where this short URL is gonna take you. You can decide there whether or not to continue clicking that URL. I found this service handy and very usefull. A good thing is that they also offer API for web apps that means this service can be implemented easily in your apps. Do check them if you’re planning to work with their service.
LongURLPlease.Com supports these short URL services so far: adjix.com, bit.ly, dwarfurl.com, ff.im, idek.net, is.gd, ln-s.net, loopt.us, ping.fm, piurl.com, piurl.com, poprl.com, qlnk.net, reallytinyurl.com, rubyurl.com, short.ie, smallr.com, snipr.com, snipurl.com, snurl.com, tinyurl.com, tr.im, twurl.nl, ub0.cc, ur1.ca, url.ie, urlx.ie, xrl.us, yep.it, zi.ma, zurl.ws

The Boston Globe reported yesterday that GateHouse has filed a lawsuit against The New York Times, accusing NYTimes’ newly launched Boston Global Newton website for copying content from GateHouse’s Newton’s local website Wicked Local Newton.
GateHouse claimed that Boston Global’s use of its content constitutes unfair business practices and has alleged the company of copyright infringement, trademark dissolution, unfair competition, false advertising and breach of contract.
GateHouse also blamed that NYTimes’ newly launched website YourTown Newton illegally copies contents from various news sources and blog features. They suggested that if NYTimes want to compete, they should hire their own journalists and should generate original content, rather then just illegally copying.
NYTimes’ spokeswoman stated that their website has been legally aggregated and linking to the content from various sources through RSS. She says they link back the content to their original sources. She further said that they have been doing what thousands of other websites on the internet are doing.
Now it is difficult to say that who will win because syndication or linking to content is a common practice. Google (the search giant)’s entire infrastructure is based on crawling and syndicating to the websites. Blog aggregators, news aggregators are very common; we can take an example of Google News . They syndicate the entire content from news resources.
Your opinion is important, you can express it in the comments below.
In this tip, I’ll teach you how to use your mobile phone as a webcam. Now you don’t have to stick in front of your webcam, you can move alongwith your phone’s camera, as this service uses bluetooth for transmitting.
I know this is quite old, but I found countless number of people asking me if they could use their phone as a webcam. This service was told to me by a good friend of mine Ahmedij.
So here it is:
This service is known as WWIGO (pronounced ‘vigo’) stands for Webcam Wherever I Go. With wwigo, a camera phone can be used as a webcam with PC or Laptop using bluetooth as the transmission medium.

It consists of two software components.
Features:
to do video chat.
to share video. This service can be used with the following mobile phones:
You can Download WWIGO here. Or you can checkout their official website for more info.
These are probably the best list of Free online video converters and downloaders. These are online platforms; that means they use their own server resources and give you the fast conversion and downloading. I have tried these utilities myself and they are just wonderful.
These converters are so easy to use, you can convert a video that is saved either in your computer or somewhere on the internet, you just have to enter its location, chose the format you want to convert to, it will take few minutes to convert and will then provide you the download link.
The most trusted and reliable video converter is MediaConverter.org . I have been happily using it.
MediaConverter enables conversion in different formats and from various online portals. You should give it a try.
Another one is Vixy.Net
A very useful desktop application to download and convert videos is Viditop
If you guys know anyother good one, do let me know through the comments box!
There are a lot of PC users that know little about “Spyware”, “Mal-ware”, “hijackers”, “Dialers” & many more. This will help you avoid pop-ups, spammers and all those baddies.
What is spy-ware?
Spy-ware is Internet jargon for Advertising Supported software (Ad-ware). It is a way for shareware authors to make money from a product, other than by selling it to the users. There are several large media companies that offer them to place banner ads in their products in exchange for a portion of the revenue from banner sales. This way, you don’t have to pay for the software and the developers are still getting paid. If you find the banners annoying, there is usually an option to remove them, by paying the regular licensing fee.

Intel conducted an online survey to find out how important the usage of internet for women is, and why really they use internet, and would they prefer using internet to sex. This study shows interesting results. Half of the women from ages 18-34 say that they prefer internet. Yes! guys, that’s true! and most women use internet for blogging and for comparing the prises of different commodities and goods.
WSJ tech news reported:
An online survey commissioned by Intel has found, among other things, that 46% of women would rather go without sex for two weeks than give up the Internet for that long. The numbers get bigger for certain age groups; 49% of women aged 18-34 would make that choice, and 52% of women aged 35-44.
Now all I have to say is; beware guys! hehehe. I mean in todays world, men have been facing challenges in their sex life, now this is just another hurdle.
In my opinion, that study doesn’t depict eastern or asian girls; I mean most of them are sex addict and even they use internet mostly for dating purpose. ROFL what you think about it? do mention in comments ![]()
